Peter Stoett

Dr. Stoett’s primary research areas have been in environmental politics/policy and human rights, and the intersections between them. He is interested in the role advanced technology is playing in the fight against, as well as the perpetuation of, environmental crime and ecocide, as well as the rise of “ecopoliticide”: the strategic oppression of environmental defenders. He is also conducting research on the severe governance gap in climate geoengineering, and continues to work on global plastic pollution and other toxic waste. Professor Stoett’s work on biodiversity conservation and biosecurity also touched on the role of digital technology in advancing positive policy measures.
